Banji

June 17, 2015

Banji was composed in the 1930s by Kuzan Takahashi. He originally claimed that it was a traditional piece taught to him by an old monk from the disbanded Fuké sect. Later he confessed that he had composed it himself. This is the original version of the piece, recovered by Kurahashi Yodo II, played on a Gyokusi 2.1 (fundamental tone is B3).
