It’s 8 am & we’re just sitting down to breakfast at the Thompson House. After a day of rest and four cups of coffee, I’m jazzed up and ready and raring to go. I am also equipped with a supply of No-Doz; I plan to take 400 mg of America’s favorite performance enhancing drug. I’m staying away from the EPO for now.
We’re about 5 miles from the edge of the Catskills, where the mountains bow down to the Hudson River, a 20 mile descent that will give us a nice down payment on the 50 mile debt that, when we pay it off, will put us in Hillsdale, the last town in NY on Route 23 before we cross the border into Massachusetts.
